Allaina is a dedicated advocate for social justice, equity, and inclusion, with a strong emphasis on disability rights and LGBTQ+ issues. She is the founder and Chair of Bolingbrook Pride, serves as Vice Chair of the Bolingbrook Arts Council, and is an active member of the Accessible Community Task Force of Naperville (the ACTF). In her graphic design business, Free Wheelin Design, she provides branding, design, websites, communications, and marketing services to individuals and organizations working to make a difference, and she regularly donates those skills to grassroots causes.
As a founding member of the ACTF, Allaina has been pivotal in advancing accessibility and inclusivity in public spaces and events. Her dedication to these causes is deeply personal; following a gymnastics accident at 15 that left her with a spinal cord injury, she has dedicated her life to challenging preconceptions and opening people's hearts and minds to the idea that we are more alike than different. She strives to create advocates through positive interaction and shared experiences.
Allaina’s commitment extends beyond her formal roles. She volunteers for Youth Outlook and is a registered Advocate for United Spinal, using her voice to support those who cannot speak for themselves. She is also considering a future in elected office, where she aims to bring people together, shape policy, and drive systemic change for a more just and equitable society.
Her leadership is defined by a relentless pursuit of solutions and a profound belief in the transformative power of community.
