Angel received her doctorate in women’s studies at the University of Maryland College Park. After completing her postdoctoral fellowship in the College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she became Healthcare/Home and Community Based Services Policy Analyst at Access Living. As an experienced research associate and policy analyst with a demonstrated history of working in higher education, the public sector and nonprofit industries she transition to her current role at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services . Angel holds research, policy and pedagogical expertise in the intersections of race, class gender and disability as they pertain to housing, health and other social economic disparities, especially for women and minorities with disabilities
