Becky Brasfield is a Member of Disability Lead, a mental health professional, a disability advocate and policy fellow. Becky joined Disability Lead as an inaugural 2015 Institute Fellow, a competitively selected opportunity for emerging leaders from all walks of life and with diverse disabilities who unite for an immersive, transformative experience exploring their leadership skills. Brasfield has assumed community leadership positions including President of the NAMI Illinois Alliance of Peer Professionals (NIAPP); Board Member of Easterseals Chicago; and is a member of the People's Liberty Project; the Illinois Dignity Coalition; the National Association of Peer Supporters; and the College of Behavioral Health Leadership. She is a Certified Recovery Support Specialist, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, and a Certified Wellness Recovery Action Plan facilitator. She is currently serving as a Policy Fellow with the Human Services Research Institute and the Cook County Safety and Justice Challenge. Her most research book, 365 Wellness and Recovery: One Year of Group Facilitation Ideas was published in November 2022.
